Most of these poems and prayers are not mine, they are just ones I like. Especially the native American ones. Some of them may be a bit explicit also but not grossly so. I hope you enjoy them also.

Grandfather Great Spirit
All over the world the faces of living ones
are alike.
With tenderness they have come up out
of the ground.
Look upon your children that they may
face the winds and walk with the good road to
the Day of Quiet.
Grandfather Great Spirit
Fill us with the Light.
Give us the strength to understand,
and the eyes to see.
Teach us to walk the soft Earth as relatives
to all that live.
Sioux Prayer

Now Talking God
With your feet I walk
I walk with your limbs
I carry forth your body
For me your mind thinks
Your voice speaks for me
Beauty is before me
And beauty is behind me
Above and below me hovers the beautiful
I am surrounded by it
I am immersed in it
In my youth I am aware of it
And in old age I shall walk quietly
The beautiful trail.
Native American Prayer

O our Father, the Sky, hear us
and make us strong.
O our Mother the Earth, hear us
and give us support.
O Spirit of the East,
send us your Wisdom.
O Spirit of the South,
may we tread your path of life.
O Spirit of the West,
may we always be ready for the long journey.
O Spirit of the North, purify us
with your cleansing winds.
Sioux Prayer

Teach your children
what we have taught our children--
that the earth is our mother.
Whatever befalls the earth
befalls upon the sons and daughters of the earth.
If men spit upon the ground,
they spit upon themselves.
This we know.
The earth does not belong to us,
we belong to the earth.
This we know.
All things are connected
like the blood which unites one family.
All things are connected.
Whatever befalls the earth
befalls the sons and daughters of the earth.
We did not weave the web of life;
We are merely a strand in it.
Whatever we do the web,
we do to ourselves...

'Our Hearts Became One'

The dawn arrives soft and light;
As my lover's gentle kiss that ends the night.
I still to watch the morning's bright hue;
My spirit and soul are consumed by you.
Like the rays that beam from the morn star;
My passion for you burns hotter by far;
Gently I feel you blow in from the East;
Your light carresses filling me with peace.
To others you show hatred, even death;
But to me, tenderness is in each breath.

And then my heart begins a rapid race;
As I see the wicked pleasures to come on your face.
When my entire being quivers with fear;
You whisper your erotic fantasy in my ear.
I am helpless as you posses me fierce and bold;
The heat from your passion dispels the cold.

You capture me, entranceing me in sensual delight;
There was never a struggle, only passions fight.
On bended knee, oh so tenderlym you offered me a prize:
You gave me your heart, your love, your life;
Cold steel strength and soft flower petals;
Our hearts became one and this is our tale.

"I Got Flowers"

I got flowers today.
It wasn’t my birthday or any other special day.
We had our first argument last night,
and he said a lot of cruel things that really hurt me.
I know he is sorry and didn’t mean the things he said.
Because he sent me flowers today.

I got flowers today.
It wasn’t our anniversary or any other special day.
Last night, he threw me into a wall
and started to choke me.
It seemed like a nightmare.
I couldn’t believe it was real.
I woke up this morning sore and bruised all over.
I know he must be sorry.
Because he sent me flowers today.

I got flowers today,
and it wasn’t Mother’s Day
or any other special day.
Last night, he beat me up again.
And it was much worse than all the other times.
If I leave him, what will I do?
How will I take care of my kids?
What about money?
I’m afraid of him and scared to leave.
But I know he must be sorry.
Because he sent me flowers today.

I got flowers today.
Today was a very special day.
It was the day of my funeral.
Last night, he finally killed me.
He beat me to death.
If only I had gathered enough courage
and strength to leave him,
I would not have gotten flowers...today.
